Red, White, and Blue (Louis Toliver Jr - USA/Austin, Texas)

Red dreams, raw and ready, bleeding on the carpet
Eager immigrants rush in like waves of youth
Different deaths, through syndication, they find

White lies held like balloons, flowing in the wind
Hungry clowns put on suits and drink espresso
I declare war on the dream; I don’t believe that it exist
This is not what I expected from this color
Elephants are not afraid to trample on them

Blue justice, I sit watching Hollywood with popcorn
Long gazes are given from The Declaration of Independence
Uncomfortable hopes are dusted away at home
Eager immigrants rush in like waves of youth
